Here are two pictures of All Saints at Writtle.
The one below is taken from the Village Green and was kindly supplied by Jenny Mackie of Western Australia.
Dating from the 13th and 14th centuries, the Church is mainly stone-built, although it does contain some Roman bricks.
Inside there are some brasses dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries and a Norman Font dating from the 12th century.
It is believed that there was a Church on this site in Saxon times
The Church Tower has 8 bells.
